Subject: CDA French Studies
Dear Dr. Litosseliti,
My name is Ornaith Rodgers and I teach French at the National University of Ireland Galway. I am currently doing a PhD in the field of Gender and Language. I am looking a constructions of gender identity in popular advice pregnancy books (in English and French) and I am going to use the CDA framework for this analysis. I have looked at the application of this framework to several studies in Gender and Language but to date I have not come across even one study in French where this framework has been applied. I was wondering, therefore, if you knew if CDA is used in French or indeed in any other European language or does it seem to solely be used in relation to the English language?
I have conducted extensive searches but I have come up with nothing! My supervisor (Dr. Maeve Conrick in University College Cork) suggested that you would be the best person to contact in this regard.
I would appreciate any advice you could offer in this area,
Best regards,
Ornaith Rodgers
