A plea for listenings on gender

Hello everyone

I would like to make a request for any recording of an academic lecture (audio or video) on gender/sexuality from a social constructionist perspective, which you might be in a position to make available as a learning resource. It would need to be a lecture targeted at approximately first-year university level.

The recording would be used in an ESOL learning programme. Thus I would need you to give permission for digitised copies of the lecture to be available to students in a language listening laboratory as part of their course of study here at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. I would need a copy of the file, to be placed on our university computer system (rather than accessing a lecture through an external website).

This plea has resulted from a project I've been commissioned to complete. I’m developing a content-based ‘theme book’ on Gender/Sexuality and Society for our English Language Institute. It will serve as a source of reading, listening, speaking and writing activities for students who are studying English for Academic Purposes for a number of years to come.

As part of this process, I very much need to provide some academic listening materials and build activities around them. Readings have been easy to arrange, but proper, academic listening materials on this topic are harder to come by.

If you have questions, please feel free to e-mail me.

Best regards,

Brian King
