*RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE 1st INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF ART AND
GENDER *

Aiming to provide visibility to artistic proposals that discuss the
challenges of feminisms, contemporary aesthetic identities, femicide or
violence, as well as experiments in poetics, activism, dissident
sexualities, etc., placed in the context of contemporary art, visual
culture, feminist, queer and LGBTQI studies, the
*10th International Fazendo Gênero Conference *calls for submissions
from *November
1st 2012 to May 15th 2013 *for artists, militants, feminists, activists,
militant groups, art collectives, researchers, research centers,
associations, interested in participating in the *1st International
Exhibition of Art and Gender*, in the *10th International Fazendo Gênero
Conference: Current Challenges of Feminisms***, at Universidade Federal de
Santa Catarina, UFSC, (Federal University of Santa Catarina),
Florianópolis, SC, Brazil.

Regulation:
Participation:
*
1. Participants of any nationality, territory, region, identity, language
or gender, living in any part of the world can submit.
2. The
*10th International Fazendo Gênero Conference *will provide certificates of
participation to selected submitting parties.

Submission:
*
1. Up to three (03) submissions per artist will be accepted.
2. Submissions may include drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture,
photography, video, performance, installation, action, interference, or any
media that does not compromise the integrity of the museographic physical
space.
3. Entries must be made by email at the following address:
rosablanca.art at gmail.com. Entries must include the following infomation:
a) personal data (name, email, address and contact numbers), a mini resumé
of artistic, cultural, militant activities and/or research: links to
catalogs, invitations, critical texts, news on the World Wide Web and
photographs of recent works.
b) Digitalized or eletronic images of proposals should be identified with
the name of the author(s), title, year of execution, technique, dimensions,
as well as the objective, justification and concepts used.
c) CD's, DVD's or any other physical devices will not be accepted during
the selection stage.
4. Entrants will be notified of the receipt of their registration. However,
the entrant is responsible for the proper functioning of the link and
definition of the image(s) during the selection process - only those works
that are successfuly vizualized by the Committee will be evaluated.
5. Installations, interventions, videos, projections, installation work and
special performances should be accompanied by descriptive report containing
all necessary elements for the presentation and assembly. Entrants must
submit the information as specified in item 3 of this call. Entrants using
the aforementioned media must provide special equipment, such as laptops,
TV's, screens, cables, data-show or any multimídia equipment, which shall
be of entrants' sole responsibility, during transportation and period of
exhibition (available in the schedule of this announcement).
6. Intervention projects that are to take place in the Trindade Campus of
the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina can be submitted under entrant's
sole responsibility including assembly and disassembly work, as well as the
viability of the materials and equipment necessary for the realization of
the intervention.

7. Entries will only be accepted providing that the works are properly
identified with the name of the entrant, title, year, technique and
dimensions, and also properly packaged indicating the entrants name,
address, telephone and email contact.

Selection:
*
1. The works will be evaluated by a Jury, sovereign in its decisions, which
will decide whether the submission will be selected.
2. Submissions will be selected from May 20th to May 24th 2013.
3. The creator of the approved works will be informed by electronic mail on
June 3rd 2013. The list of selected works will be published on the site of
*Fazendo Gênero 10. *

Transportation of works:
*
1. Entrants must send the selected works from June 21st to August 21st
2013, together with an invoice (if sent by courier service). The work
should be packed in suitable packaging, enabling its reuse and ensuring
safereturn.
2. All expenses with the dispatch and return of the work must be paid for
by the selected entrants, who are also responsible for the contracting of
the courier and the cost of delivery and collection of their works.
3. The submission of the selected works will only be received during the
indicated period of June 21st to August 21st 2013.
4. The 10th International Fazendo Gênero Conference is exempt from any
liability for any damage caused to the works submitted during transport and
the period of exhibition.
5. Those works sent outside the specified period will not be part of the
1st International Exhibition of Art and Gender.
6. In case of projects with collective authorship, please appoint a
representative who can be contacted whenever needed.
7. Selected entrants should collect their works from October 22nd to
October 29th 2013.
8. Works not removed within the specified time frame will be considered
abandoned and Fazendo Gênero 10 organizers reserve the right to give them
the destination deemed necessary.
9. Dispatch and collection of works (during business hours: Monday to
Friday from 8am to 12pm and from 14pm to 18pm):

Exhibition:

11. The
*1st International Exhibition of Art and Gender *will be held between
September 16th and October 16th 2013.
12. The exhibition plan is sole responsibility of the Curator.
13. Selected entrants working with installation or interference shall be
responsible for the assembly of their proposal, the costs of shipment,
lodging and meals. In case the entrant cannot attend the exhibition, s/he
must send sketches of the work assembly.

*The graphic design of the 1st International Exhibition of Art and Gender's
invitation will be created by the Organizing Committee of Fazendo Gênero
10. *

15. The images, ideas and/or proposals expressed in the works, as well as
the use of music, are the sole responsibility of the entrants and does not
reflect the views of Fazendo Gênero 10.
16. The 10th International Fazendo Gênero Conference is not responsible for
any damage that may occur to the works and multimedia provided by the
selected entrants. If necessary, entrants must arrange an insurance policy.
17. The images of all selected works can be freely used for the publicizing
of the Exhibition.
18. All entrants who submit their work automatically accept the terms and
conditions of the terms set hereto . Omissions will be analyzed by the
Organizing Committee. The Jury is sovereign and reserves the right not to
select any entrant.
