[Gala-l] Gendered discourse about food and drink

Hi,

I’ve done some work on Food and Language. Can send a bibliography to anyone interested. Two things for now.

1. Some time ago, Penny Eckert suggested an exercise for Language and Gender classes for which student collect “gendered” noun phrases. “Girly drinks” would be an example. “Chick food” is another. My students collected many dozens of these; some are food related.

2. Not specifically about noun phrases but about food and gender is a talk I gave at IGALA6. It was never published but if interested, I can send a copy.
