Applied Linguistics as Consultancy: A Symposium and Inaugural Lecture
University of Nottingham

Senate Chamber, Trent Building, Unviersity Park Campus
Hosted by the University of Nottingham’s Centre for Research in Applied Linguistics and Linguistic Profiling for Professionals, this free event brings together academics and workplace practitioners from diverse disciplinary backgrounds to explore how language and communication research (within and beyond linguistics) can be of applied practical value to the communicative practices of people working in a wide range of real-world workplace settings. The day will comprise a series of panels, followed by an inaugural lecture, exploring what has been achieved so far and what needs to be the focus for future development, addressing three key themes where applied linguistics research on professional communication has made major contributions.

The Sociolinguistics of Gender and Equality at Work
