A hybrid one-day symposium exploring horizons, challenges, and
possibilities of transfeminist queer translation in connection to theories
of affect and decoloniality.
Starting with an opening address by leading feminist writer *Sara Ahmed*,
the day will unfold with panels and roundtables that will discuss the
ethics and politics of translation as an accountable, embodied, and
affective practice.
The evening event, *rumi roaming in Birmingham, *will feature a group of
poets and artists gathering together to offer poetry readings, video
screenings and performance work from and inspired by the multi-lingual and
multi-platform anthology *rumi roaming: contemporary engagements and
interventions* (Guernica and Subversive Press, 2025).
