[IGALA] [CFP] IGALA14 Conference 2027: Researching Language, Gender and Sexuality in Times of Political Challenge

Dear Colleagues,

The International Gender and Language Association (IGALA) is pleased to
announce the 1st Call for Proposals for our 2027 conference (IGALA14).
Founded in 1999, IGALA is the primary international scholarly organization
dedicated to research on language, gender, and sexuality.

   - Theme: Researching Language, Gender and Sexuality in Times of
   Political Challenge
   - Dates: 21, 22, and 23 July 2027

   - Dr J Calder (University of Colorado Boulder, USA)
   - Dr Sylvia Shaw (University of Westminster, UK)
   - Dr Jaspal Singh (Open University, UK)

Call for Abstracts :

We invite proposals for Individual Paper Presentations, Discussion Panels,
and Poster Presentations. We particularly encourage contributions that
address empirical, methodological, and theoretical issues related to the
conference theme and intersecting global challenges such as climate change
and forced migration.

Important Submission Guidelines:

   - Individual Papers/Posters: Abstract of max. 350 words.
   - Discussion Panels: Title and description (max. 400 words) plus
   abstracts for each paper (max. 200 words).
   - Participation Limit: Authors may present a maximum of two
   presentations, only one of which may be sole-/first authored.

Important Dates

   - Submissions Open: 18 May 2026
   - Final Submission Deadline: 31 August 2026
   - Notification of Acceptance: 30 October 2026
   - Registration Opens: 2 November 2026
