Based on the previous posts and some from long ago, I propose this
tentative and unabashedly fantasy-oriented diagram to exemplify how each
approach might be explained in terms of reconstructed natural language:
*awtaumobilus Used by Romanized Goths and the educated (Latin-speaking)
*silbagaggands Same as above, but more common among linguists
or reactionary "purists"
*awto, *bilus, *beils Same as awtaumobilus, but colloquial.
*wagns (cf. NHG Wagen) Used by Goths living in Germania; also a common alternative.
*karrus Used generally as an alternative by most Goths.
