Hi Keth and Sverre and others!
For your interest, I have to mention that the meaning in swedish is 
exactly the same as in "nynorskordboka". The use of "kärra" for
car, 
has started to spread in the 50ies through the "raggar" or rocker-
culture. "Jag köpte en schysst kärra igår", I bought a nice
car 
yesterday. The similarity is probably not a coincidence.
