An interesting question are the personal names found
in inscriptions on the northern shore of the Black Sea.
One such name is Xardei. Another is Gardeis which has
been connected to Gothic Hairdeis (Hirte German, herde
Swedish). Another name is Boudeis maybe to be connected
with*biud- (bieten German and bjuda Swedish).
Some writings that might be of interest here is
L.Zgusta, Die Personennamen griechischer Staedte
der noerdlichen Schwarzmeerkueste, Prague, 1955.
G.Neumann-Kl. Duewel, Alust - ein krimgotischer Ortsname?
