Well, I have subscribed to Mark's archaeology list.
As to the question of whether or not it is a >history<
list, I guess we should ask him how he feels about
us using it as if it were one. What do you say Mark?
Some of the other sites suggested seemed to be a
little ... (I don't want to offend anybody... but) cheesy
for my tastes. I only took a brief glance, so maybe I'm
just being a bit quick to judge, as I often am.
As for Mark's (the other Mark, that is...and that's why
I don't use my first name) comments...

I in no way feel either dissention or alienation, but feel
that there are things that the discussion here leads to
which are definately out of the stated bounds of this
list. I would really not like to see this list's boundaries
changed as some have suggested. This is a list for
Gothic studies, which is a good thing and I plan to
remain subscribed to it for quite some time.
In summary and closing, I think that those of you who
felt the idea of a Germanic history list was a good idea
should also subscribe to Mark's list
(www.egroups.com/group/EuropeanArchaeology)
and we shall carry out of bounds discussions there.
Gendler.
