About this æ: I know nothing, but Daweid did point out to me that I omitted 
Proto-Germanic *iu > Gothic iu. This is, as he himself said to me, hardly an 
ommission since it isn't actually a CHANGE, but seeing as I included other 
soundchanges that weren't changes it seems only fair to mention it.
    Apparently this pgmc. *iu was a umlaut varient of *eu (I was quite 
surprised that there were umlauts happening that far back!), as an example: 
*theudon > Got. thiuda NHG. Diet-, but *thiudiskaz > Got. thiudisks, NHG. 
Deutsch.
    Now what can you tell me about æ:? Where does it come from, and what does 
it do in other languages?
