[gothic-l] Visigothic Navy?

Ian,

Now have found a reference to a Visigothic navy.
It operated in the Bay of Biscay against Saxon
pirates in 478 AD. It also made the conquest of
Ceuta (as referred to in my earlier mail) in the 540s AD
possible. Actually there is also a reference to a
Visigothic fleet defeating a Byzantine fleet in the 600s AD.
Actually it was even operating against the Arab ships during
the crossing from North Africa to southern Spain.
