Actually, the Huns spoke a Turkic language and originated in Mongolia.
There was another group of Huns known as the White Huns, or Ephthalites,
who invaded and conquered northwestern India. The Chinese had called
them the Yue-ji , or Moon Tribe. Attila had gray eyes. Believe it or
not, viking runes have been found in Mongolia.
Two Danish scientists first deciphered the runes from the Orkhon River
in Mongolia. They figured out that they were written in archaic Turkish.
One of the scientists was Holger Pedersen, who invented the Nostratic
Theory, which states that Indo-European, Altaic and some other language
families are all related to each other.
In ancient times, there were white people with red hair and blue eyes
who lived in Mongolia. They spoke Orkhon Turkish, the oldest known
Turkic language. They carved scultures of white men on stones, similar
to contemporary sculptures in Europe and those of the early
Indo-Europeans. They used runes similar to those of Scandinavia. It is
not known exactly how they obtained these runes. The Khazars were a
Turkish people who converted to Judaism and lived in Ukraine and
Kazakhstan. They too used runes. These runes came from the Koek Turks or
Blue Turks, named for their blue eyes. Later, Jenghiz Khan was said to
come from a blue-eyed clan of Mongols called "Borjigun." The Khazars are
one link between the runes of Mongolia and those of Europe. The
following article mentions the red hair of the early Turks:

The next article demonstrates how a little knowledge can be a dangerous
thing. A Turk studied both Turkish runes and Viking runes and came up
with the silly idea that Viking runes came from the Turks or some
Asiatic source.. If he knew anything about the subject, he would know
that there were runes in Europe long before any appeared in Asia.

This article presents the earliest origin of runes. in prehistoric
Scandinavia and from the Etruscan alphabet. Some words in Etruscan and
Scandinavian are oddly similar, such as "aesar" for "gods" and the name
"Lars".
