There can be little doubt that "wulf" is wolf,
but if Beo- is related to bee is certainly
doubtful. King Berig who led the migration
of the Goths was according to the poem
a nephew of the Gautic king Hredel and
also a cousin of Hredel's two sons,
Haedcyn (Hoeder) and Hygelac (Hugleik).
