So in the earliest traditions, the Goths, circa 400 CE, you have    
god  people   
guþ  þiuda   guþþiuda? never used in extant sources only gutþiuda
goð   þjóð    goðþjóð

What then would the ON equivalent to Gothic people, 
I can only find King of the Goths, Gotna þióðan

fráogo froéknan, ef fiaor vildi Gotna þióðan golli kaupa 
They asked the brave King of the Goths if he would buy his life with 
gold. 

ON Gothic people would have to be something like
Gotþjóð
gutþiuda
