Hi Troels,

I have to admit that you are smarter than me. If you made a quick 
search, I made a super-quick one and didn't notice that Alaricus and 
Halaricus are different persons. What you write makes sense, but I can 
not see the significance of the difference. In any case, it seems to 
me little probable that Herulic and Suevic preserved an initial "h" 
that was lost in the Gothic language of Iordanes' time. Maybe Alaricus 
and Halaricus are different names, and Ala- and Hala- are not the 
same.
