_ginnel_ is used in Yorkshire for alleyway.
_taw_ is a marble.
_lekkin_ from Danish (Norse) for playing.
So we are in the Danelaw somewhere in Yorkshire I would say.
The sentence meaning something like: playing marbles in the alleyway.
