Posting in error. my apologies
Please ignore
The g and the J sound are interchangeable
We have
ganpada or Janpada, both meaning democratic republics, but
prounounced with the "g" for "go" or" J" for "john" sounds
Part of the confusion for george arises because the J character ,
whenit appears ,in Eaatern Europe at least, is treated as a "y".
Like Sonja, pronounced Sonya
Sonya BTW means Pretty, Beautiful in Punjabi/Hindi.
The girl is " Soni" -( pretty)
or "Oh Soni- ya"," Soni- yeh" - "hail O beautiful one."
Fransisc those translations from Prof Taglivani, when you have time.
