Hi Thomas, 

we know from Gothic and especially Ostrogothic jewellery and clothes 
fittings like belt buckles and fibulae that they did adopt elements 
of eastern steppe people. Also, we know that the Ostrogoths become 
mainly mounted horsemen who fought with lances, a technique probably 
borrowed from peoples like the Sarmartians or Alans. Hence, it seems 
likely that other elements of the traditional Gothic dress were also 
adopted and adjusted under eastern influence. However, Greek and 
Roman provincial influences will also have played an important role.
