Tacitus is 1st C BC, right? Before the Augustan trade mission and before the Gothic Confederation really began to take over. Even so, there is still Gotland in the Baltic, the Gotones at the six forks of the Vistula, and other sound alike references at different places in Europe. Later there is Armin, then the Marcommanis, the Seuvic confederation. then the Goths really take over.
