Fritigern was less than noble aristocrat who became famous for leading christianized Goths out of Dacia and other Gothic territories into the Roman Empire before the Huns began their major assault. They were being oppressed by Athanaric, a major leader (judge or king), who wanted to have everyone swear alliegence to Odin.
