Dear Francisc,

thanks a lot for this explanation. This seems to confirm my 
speculation that the 'jach' that I encountered in a Low Saxon dialect 
is a contraction of 'ja auch or ja und' just as in Gothic. In fact, 
thinking about it, I think the form 'joh' and similar is still in use 
in various middle and upper German dialects as a  specific form 
of 'and' when several items are listed and perhaps some sort of 
increase is noted. 

As you wrote, Otfried von Weissenburg's (9th cent) use of 'joh' 
as 'and' seems to be analog to the Gothic 'jah'.

"..., thaz sie sint gúate thegana 
ouh góte thionoti álle joh uuísduames folIe"

"..., that they are good warriors and good servants of god and full 
of wisdom"
