Hi Vladimir,

I don't think there's any connection between the English word 'god' 
and the name of the God 'Woden', if that´s what´s meant?  I see here 
that the idea did occur to some ealy scholars though [ 
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odin ].  The earliest attested forms 
are quite distinct.

Got. guþ "god" < Gmc. *gud-an
OE Wóden, ON Óðinn, Merseburger Zauberspruche: uuôdan < *wôd-an-az 
(cf. Got. woþs "mad").

The short /o/ in English 'god' is an umlaut caused by the thematic 
vowel /a/, whereas the root vowel in Wóden is long, corresponding to 
IE /a:/.
