Word relation question

I have a question a was thinking about during this day. But first I
have to make some statements, and I hope you agree with em.

The gothic word þreihan = german drängen, english press, crowd. This
comes from a older gothic 'þrinhan'.

The swedish word tränga (and german drängen) with the same meaning
comes from þrangian.

Now to the question:

Is the relation between þrinhan and þrangian the same as between sitan
and satian (equivalent to swedish sitta, sätta and german sitzen,
setzen)?

/Fredrik
