Thank you for posting all this information about the Crimea.  I
found your summary of the history very interesting and evocative.  I
was looking at some photographs of Mangup recently on the internet.
It's certainly a spectacular place, isn't it.  Regarding these
inscriptions: do you know any more about their content?  Were they
names on graves?  Has anything been published about them?

One more question: was there any difference in the way the skulls of
males and females were deformed, or was the practise the same for
both?
