Toledo (Norman template)

I think we should'nt use the Normans as a template in this case.
As far as I know, the Normans of Rollon were only men, who married
local Romance-speaking women, so that after one or two generations
their Norse language died out. On the other hand, the Goths (both
Ostro- and Visi-) travelled everywhere with their families.I don't
have examples at hand now, but I know there are some Germanic
loanwords in Spanish that are rather Gothic than Frankish or something
else. Moreover, the name of the Visigothic king Wamba (ruled 672-680
AD) is most probably a nickname (gothic wamba = belly), and a Gothic
nickname is, in my opinion, a proof that the Gothic language was still
alive in the second half of the 7th century in Spain.
