of the International Academy of Linguistic Law (IALL). IALL is an
international multidisciplinary organization, whose members are
interested in issues pertaining to law and language, especially to
comparative language law.

As you know, the Eight International Conference of the International
Academy of Linguistic Law, "Law and Language: The theory and the
practise of linguistic policies in the world", will take place from the
24th to the 26th of May 2002 in Iasi, Romania, in co-operation with the
"Mihail Kogalniceanu" University.

We ask once again our members, friends and colleagues interested in
taking part in the Conference, either with a paper or as an observer,
to contact as soon as possible and directly the Principal of the
University of Iasi. Personal invitations will be sent if needed.

Abstracts of papers must be sent before December 31, 2001. Professors
Aurora Ciuca, Maria Pavel, Genoveva Vrabie (Romania), Angéline Martel,
Joseph Turi et José Woehrling (Canada) sit on the Scientific Committee.

The registration fee is 150 $ USA before December 31, 2001 (200 $ after
this date). The fees include documentation, all meals and one excursion.
The University of Iasi has a list of good hotels available for
participants. Payments must be done to the "Fundatia Universitatea
Mihail Kogalniceanu-Iasi" into the Bank Account No 251100296061044  of
the Bank "Banca Romana Pentru Dezvoltare Iasi".

Comme vous le savez, la Huitième Conférence internationale de l'Académie
internationale de droit linguistique, "Droit et Langue: La théorie et la
pratique des politiques linguistiques dans le monde", aura lieu du 24 au
26 mai 2002, à Iasi, en Roumanie, en collaboration avec l'Université «
Mihail Kogalniceanu ». Nous demandons de nouveau à nos membres, amis et
collègues intéressés à y participer, avec une communication ou à titre
d'observateur, de s'adresser le plus rapidement possible et directement
au Recteur de l'Université de Iasi. Des invitations personnelles seront
envoyées si nécessaire.

Les résumés des communications devront parvenir avant le 31 décembre
2001. Les professeurs Angéline Martel, Joseph Turi et José Woehrling
(Canada), Aurora Ciuca, Maria Pavel et Genoveva Vrabie (Roumanie) font
partie du Comité scientifique.

Les frais d'inscription sont de 150 $ USA  avant le 31 décembre 2001
(200 $ après cette date). Les frais incluent la documentation, tous les
repas et une excursion. L'Université de Iasi a une liste de bons hôtels
à proposer aux participants. Les versements devront être faits au nom de
