Call for Papers:
PROSODY - REGIONAL VARIATION, SOCIAL VARIATION, AND MULTILINGUALISM
Workshop at the 24th Annual Meeting of the DGfS (German Linguistics
Association) February 27 - March 1, 2002 Mannheim, Germany
Invited speakers (preliminary list):
Jennifer Fitzpatrick (University of Tuebingen)
Esther Grabe (University of Oxford)
Martine Grice (University of Saarbruecken)
Carlos Gussenhoven (University of Nijmegen)
Margret Selting (University of Potsdam)
The workshop will aim to get researchers from different fields
presenting recent work on prosodic variation and the role of prosody
in a multilingual context.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* intonational/prosodic variation of languages (intonational typology)
* intonational/prosodic variation of regional varieties
* sociolinguistic factors contributing to intonational/prosodic variation
* stylistic variation of intonation/prosody
* intonation/prosody in language contact
* intonation/prosody in multilinguals
* theoretical implications of research on prosodic variation
