The Division of Education, University of California, Davis invites
applications for the position of Lecturer and Supervisor of Teacher
Education. .  This is a non tenure tract position with potential for renewal
on a yearly and multiple year basis.  Successful candidates will have
appropriate academic preparation to teach curriculum and instruction courses
in foreign language-Spanish for CLAD/BCLAD credential/M.A. program;
knowledge of new teacher development; and experience in and knowledge about
education in California public schools.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ø	Master degree in a related area in Education or the discipline.
Ø	California Single Subject foreign language Spanish teaching credential or
equivalent;
Ø	High level of proficiency in spoken and written Spanish
Ø	Successful experience teaching in secondary school foreign
language-Spanish classrooms; and/or upper    level bilingual elementary
classrooms
Ø	Experience, knowledge, and training in the education of linguistically and
culturally diverse K-12 student populations;
Ø	Successful experience mentoring student teachers or novice teachers;
Ø	Successful experience working in a program team;

Preferred Qualifications:
Ø	Earned doctorate in Education
Ø	BCLAD teaching credential
Ø	Undergraduate or advanced degree in Spanish
Ø	Experience working in Spanish for native Spanish Speakers programs
Ø	Expertise in the area of  instructional technology
Ø	Experience working with school/university partnerships;
Ø	Successful experience instructing credential candidates or novice
teachers;
Ø	Interest in teacher research;

Responsibilities include:
Ø	Teaching foreign language-Spanish teaching methods courses for secondary
credential students;
Ø	Teaching general secondary methods courses related to teaching and
learning (as appropriate to candidates areas of expertise)
Ø	Supervising secondary student teachers in linguistically and culturally
diverse classroom placements and other field experiences;
Ø	Mentoring students in teacher research projects
Ø	Participating in student advising and committee work, university/school
teacher education partnerships;
Ø	Collaborating in the research agenda of the UC Davis Teacher Education
Program

Salary
Commensurate with education and experience
