I would like to ask members if they know of any tools that would be
helpful in teaching young children an indigenous language. I am a
member of the Absentee Shawnee tribe, and currently the tribe is
developing a program to teach Shawnee. The director of the program
asked me if I was aware of a toy for young children that he had seen.
There were several buttons with pictures of animals on this toy. When
each button was pressed it would say the name of that animal in the
designated tribe's native language. It seems I remember reading about
this somewhere, but I though someone might have specifics as to where to
order this or other helpful items. My e-mail address is
lisa_shawnee at hotmail.com. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.
