YOUNG HISPANICS LEARNING ENLGISH ONLY
A growing number of American Hispanics no longer can speak Spanish,
which they believe causes older members of the Hispanic community
to look down upon them. Some academics say that before the 1960s
Spanish speakers felt they were discriminated against, so they abandoned
the language in order to assimilate, and thus never taught Spanish
to their children. THE ARIZONA REPUBLIC (Phoenix), 5 May 2003 - website
