The National Capital Language Resource Center and the Georgetown University
are offering a course on
Spoken Iraqi Arabic
SPECIAL SESSION (May 24 to June 18, 2004)

3 credits
The spoken Iraqi Arabic conversion course is an intensive 3-week, 3-credit
course aimed at Arabists who have reached at least the intermediate level of
study of Modern Standard Arabic (MSA). This course will introduce the
features of Iraqi dialect and contrast them with MSA. It is geared primarily
toward comprehension of spoken Iraqi Arabic, as a basis for building
interactive skills. It runs as a pre- session course from May 24 to June 18,
with students in class 3 hours daily Monday through Friday from 8:30-11:30
AM and with an equal amount of work assigned outside of class. This course
is offered for undergraduate credit only. For more information please visit
