2014 ACTFL Annual Convention and World Languages Expo
November 21-23, 2014 | San Antonio, TX
Theme: Reaching Global Competence
Proposals may be submitted for a Learning Session (60 minutes, paper or panel of up to 4 presenters), Research Paper (20 minutes), Roundtable (25 minutes), or Electronic Poster (in a poster area).
The following are the Focus Areas for this year:
• Planning for the Learner
• Learning and Teaching
• Assessment
• Collaboration

Please include the following in your proposal:
TITLE: 10 words maximum (for the program book )
ABSTRACT: 50 words (for the program book )
DESCRIPTION: Total 350 must include

Outcomes
If you are proposing a panel session, include the title of each presentation. (These titles do not count in the 350-word description.)

SELECTION PROCESS
Our Mission statement guides the review process by the Heritage Language Selection Committee:
“The mission of this SIG will be to promote best teaching practices when working with heritage language speakers across all languages, through the sharing of research findings, effective pedagogy, and the development of well-designed materials.” (November 22, 2008)
Once selected, a timely response to the Committee’s suggestions for revision will be necessary to be included in the planned program.
