Dear Alexis,

A former student of mine, Evanthia Diakoumakou, wrote her dissertation  
under Pam Beddor at the the University of Michigan on "carryover"  
vowel nasalization in Greek ("Coarticulatory Vowel Nasalization in  
Modern Greek").  She also looked at the phenomenon in a number of  
other languages, and drew a connection between syllable structure and  
anticipatory vs. perseverative vowel nasalization.
