GROAN!!  A dying breed!  Oh, Larry, pundit of punditry!

I, too, am a die-hard user of die as the singular of dice, but find myself,
here
in the US and in general playing games with reasonably well-educated people,
teased with 'Listen to the English teacher!' when I say it.  People are aware
of the 'correct' form but apparently now consider it 'snooty'.  At least here
in Philadelphia.
