Wrt Steve Wechsler's collection, one issue that
arises in content is the extent to which undefined (or
poorly defined) GB/P&P/MinGr. notions might benefit
from some of the work which HPSG has done. People
might be interested in Mettina Veenstra's diss.
Formalizing the Minimalist Program
Groningen, 1998
It argues that feature description logics simplify
the formalization a lot, particularly that
of subcategorization, optionality and lexical spec.
For those interested only in GB-trashing (no one on
this list, I trust), it will be disappointing. It's
basically a friendly attempt to formalize the grammar.
Some of the conclusions in content might raise eyebrows,
however.
