       7th Meeting of the Section for Computational Linguistics

	 of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Sprachwissenschaft

			   October 6-8,1999
	       Universität des Saarlandes, Saarbrücken
 Theme: Computational Linguistics: Theoretical vs. Empirical Concerns


The conference welcomes current work within research and application
oriented computational linguistics.  Abstracts which pertain to the
main theme of the conference will generally be preferred. The language
of the conference is both English and German and abstracts will be
accepted in either language.

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is June 18th, 1999.  3
copies of abstracts no longer than 6 pages should be submitted to by
that date.  The electronic submission of abstracts is strongly
encouraged (we will take postscript, Microsoft Word, RTF, HTML or PDF,
as well as simple ASCII).

A workshop on practical issues will form a part of the meeting.

         Workshop: (Computational) Linguistics  in University Programs


NOTE: This meeting will be the last of its kind (an autumn school will
take its place)

    Rahmenthema: Computerlinguistik zwischen Theorie und Empirie.


Erwünscht sind Beiträge in deutscher und englischer Sprache, die sich
mit aktuellen Forschungs- und Anwendungsfragen aus allen Gebieten der
Computerlinguistik auseinandersetzen, wobei in der Regel ein Bezug zum
Rahmenthema hergestellt werden sollte. Erweiterte Abstracts in einem
Umfang von maximal 6 Seiten müssen in drei Kopien bis zum 18.6.1999
bei der Sprecherin der Sektion Computerlinguistik, Miriam Butt,
eingereicht werden. Wenn möglich sollten die Abstracts elektronisch
eingereicht werden (angenommen werden PostScript-Dateien, Microsoft
Word, RTF, HTML oder PDF Formate, sowie auch einfaches ASCII).

       Anwendungsworkshop: (Computer-)Linguistik und gestufte Studiengänge


WICHTIGER HINWEIS:

Diese Fachtagung wird nach Beschluß der Sektion die letzte ihrer Art sein.
