The Departments of Linguistics and of Computer Science at the University of Rochester invites applications to a new MS program in Computational Linguistics. [NEW] Master of Science in COMPUTATIONAL LINGUISTICS (http://www.sas.rochester.edu/lin/graduate/MS.html)
The Computational Linguistics MS program trains students to be conversant both in the analysis of language and in computational techniques applied to natural language. The curriculum consists of courses in Linguistics and Computer Science for a total of 32 credit hours.
Graduates from the Computational Linguistics MS program will be prepared for both further training at the PhD level in Computer Science and Linguistics and Computational Linguistics positions in industry.

Requirements:

We look for students with strong academic records who show breadth and depth of interests, and the potential for creativity in pursuing a successful linguistics program. A background in linguistics is desirable but not necessary.
NOTE: A tuition award (for reduced tuition) is available for the strongest applicants.

For fullest consideration applicants should submit completed applications by MARCH 1, though applications will continue to be considered as space permits. All documents should be uploaded online. Applications should include Official Transcripts, GRE scores, three letters of recommendation, a statement of purpose, a writing sample, and TOEFL or IELTS scores for those applicants whose native language is other than English.
