Dear all,
The Standing Committee invites members of the HPSG community to
organize and host the next conference. We are open for bids from
anywhere in the world, and can assist hosts with know-how gathered
from the two past virtual meetings.
Although we are very hopeful that by next year the pandemic will be
mostly resolved, we cannot know for sure. For this reason, we invite
bids for a virtual conference, once again. It would be good if next
year's conference could pivot to a hybrid conference mode, pandemic
permitting, although this is by no means a requirement imposed on
bids. In such a hybrid setting, there would be an in-person audience
and presenters (streamed to the web), as well as a remote audience and
presenters (who can present and ask questions, like in a virtual
conference). To reiterate, there is no expectation that bids for the
29th conference would have to be hybrid. The reasons to maintain an
online component are many (e.g. inability to travel due to issues
pertaining to health, funding, family, politics, etc.), as you know.
If you have any questions, please contact me or any member of the
Standing Committee.
Best wishes,
Rui Chaves
