The I-LanD Research Centre is delighted to share the Call for Papers for the upcoming seminar on "Research Methodologies in English Linguistics: Foundations and New Directions", which will be held at the University of Messina (Dept. of Ancient and Modern Civilizations), October 25-27, 2023.

The seminar aims to enhance our understanding of how English linguistics has developed its main research foci from its early beginnings to the current research landscape. By combining insights from past research experiences with contemporary methodological and theoretical frameworks, the seminar hopes to encourage engaging debates within and beyond the epistemological boundaries of the discipline.

Proposals of approximately 350 words (including references) are encouraged, showcasing empirical case studies that delve into the diversity and range of methodologies employed in English linguistics research. Abstracts should be submitted by June 26, 2023, to Maria Grazia Sindoni (mgsindoni at unime.it<mailto:mgsindoni at unime.it>) and Rosalba Rizzo (rrizzo at unime.it<mailto:rrizzo at unime.it>). Notification of acceptance will be sent by July 27, 2023.
