Dear all,

We are delighted to share the Call for Papers for a special issue of the Journal of English for Academic Purposes, titled "Technology in EAP Language Teaching and Learning" (https://www.sciencedirect.com/special-issue/317091/technology-in-eap-language-teaching-and-learning), edited by Giuseppe Balirano (University of Naples L'Orientale), Jim McKinley (University College London) and Tania Zulli (University of Chieti-Pescara).

The special issue will specifically focus on digital technology and artificial intelligence in EAP as a current, key growth area and its impact on prominent areas of research on academic English language teaching and learning. Some examples of areas responsive to this call include:
- Use of AI in EAP interventions and teacher training
- Impact of digital technology on EAP teaching-research nexus
- Virtual reality in EAP teaching and learning
- Influence of e-testing on EAP teaching and learning
- Automated testing and feedback in EAP
- Open data and development of tech for EAP teaching and learning
- Corpus research into digital technology and AI in EAP

Manuscript submission information - Expected timeline:
- Abstracts due to Guest editors: 15 February 2025
- Short-listed abstracts decided: 15 March 2025
- Manuscript submission deadline: 15 June 2025
- Papers reviewed: 15 August 2025
- Final revisions due: 15 November 2025
Publication generally 1-3 months after revised papers submitted
