Rumors: Bible translators were mining national resources and spying for
the CIA

Christianity Today's Deann Alford writes: If anti-Americanism was
running high in Latin America, disdain for missionaries had soared.
Missionaries, one leader said, were Yankee imperialists, "an affront to
