Indigenous languages in north-west New South Wales are set for a
revitalisation, with an injection of more than $37,000 of State
Government funding.

The money will be used by the Western Rivers Endangered Language
Resource Production project and the Murrawarri Language Project.

The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Milton Orkopoulos, says work to
revitalise Indigenous languages in NSW is very important.

"There were more than 70 Aboriginal languages in NSW at the time of
European settlement, today there are about 10 that are healthy and
vibrant enough to be taught in schools, and the remainder need
revitalisation work," he said.
