The University of Montana invites applications for a one year full-time
non-tenure-track Adjunct Assistant Professor (Sabbatical Replacement) position in
Native American Studies for the 2006-07 academic year. This person will teach
three courses per semester. A required course will be: Intro to Native American
Studies. Possible other courses may include: Native American Religion &
Philosophy and Oral & Written Native American Traditions. While the individual will
not be required to serve on committees, he/she will be encouraged to
participate in local and campus cultural events and to serve as a role model to
students. Candidates must possess an ABD in an NAS field with a background on Native
American ecological perspectives and/or environmental studies; a record of
excellence in undergraduate teaching; and a scholarly research agenda. Preferred
qualifications include a Ph.D. degree with an interdisciplinary approach, in
a primary field appropriate to NAS and teaching experience in undergraduate
Native American Studies. Additional information about the Native American
