Hi Phil

1) I tend to prefer Thunderbird for multilingual email.

2) For web email, I prefer Gmail in conjunction with Firefox and the
Stylish extension. Gmail is UTF-8 based so is good for mutilingual
emails, but for some languages I prefer to override the fonts Gmail
uses to display text. Thats where the Stylish extension comes in. I
use it to create domain specific CSS rules that I can turn on or off
as needed.
