Young Chilean keeps nearly extinct languages alive

I first heard the audio version of this online a couple of weeks ago, and wrote to the student's mentor at Temuco. Never heard back, but then its winter down there. Just tried again, now that this has hit the electronic shores. Hopefully something will happen. One linguist familiar with the situation suggested forgetting about it, that it was probably some sort of hoax. Better safe than sorry, though. Right now linguists aren't too popular with the powers that be in Ukika. People who should know better have decided they DO know better, unfortunately. 

I have all sorts of materials that would be useful. Just have to make that connection.
