I recommend this book:

Teaching Oregon Languages, published in 2007. I have a chapter in the book. It's a pretty good overview of the subject.

Subject: [ILAT] Indigenous Language Articles?
Hi all,
I'll be teaching a graduate seminar on languages of North America (very general in scope at this point) and am looking for articles to give the students to read. I'm open to anything. If you have any ideas I'd love to hear them. Also, if anyone has taught such a course and has suggestions, they would be welcome.
Thanks,
Shannon
