Board official calls for more native language instruction

There is a need for more native language instruction, the Bluewater District
School Board heard last week.

"Language is an important part of the native culture, it is not separate from
it," said Theresa Root, the Saugeen First Nation representative on the board.

In an effort to preserve native language, Root believes "it needs to be taught
to children from kindergarten right through".
