Anthropological linguist Janis B. Nuckolls has many years of field
experience, primarily in Amazonian Ecuador. In her new book Lessons from a
Quechua Strongwoman: Ideaphony, Dialogue, and Perspective, Nuckolls shows
through the words of a Quechua-speaking woman named Luisa Cadena a complex
language system where language is the core of cultural and grammatical
communications. Her new book will be available soon from the University of
Arizona Press and is a proud part of the First Peoples publishing
